Q: Why was the Program closed?

A: Because of the economic difficulties in SC in 2008, on November 7, 2008 the FY 08-09 Budget Rescission Bill (Act 414 of 2008) was passed. This act transferred all remaining funds from the Competitive Community Grants Program and redirected them to the Department of Corrections to offset that agency's budget reductions.

Q: When will new grant funds be available?

A: Funding must be appropriated by the General Assembly.

Q: I received a Grant before the program was eliminated. Do I still have to submit progress reports every six months and a Final Financial Report ?
